Unrelatedly, I think Mara's hit on a repeatable, successful sauerkraut recipe. The secret ingredient? Hard cider instead of white wine or beer.

Ha. I didn't...this is a pre-made huisgemaakt thing from De Avondmarkt. I'm pretty sure they've got it all year round, must be from frozen rhubarb? Mara's totally in love with it.
